On August 21, 2024, Amora Ubud Villa will hold a sacred Piodalan ceremony in alignment with Bali’s traditional calendar, on the day of Buda Kliwon Gumbreg. This ceremony is a spiritual event intended to purify and honor the villa’s sacred spaces, inviting blessings for continued prosperity and harmony. Led by a Balinese priest, the ritual will be supported by the staff, management, and owner of Amora Ubud Villa, along with the residents of Banjar Bangkian Sidem.
Beginning at 8 a.m., the ceremonial activities this involve prayers, offerings, and the traditional cleansing of the villa’s temple area (Pelinggih). Devotees will present offerings of fruits, flowers, and symbolic items as gestures of respect to the gods. Throughout the ceremony, the atmosphere will be filled with the sounds of traditional Balinese instruments (Baleganjur), creating a serene and spiritual environment for all involved.
After the religious rites are completed, the Piodalan will conclude with a communal feast. Participants will gather to enjoy a meal featuring roast suckling pig, known as babi guling,lawar, ares & oret which was part of the offerings. This shared meal symbolizes unity and gratitude, fostering a deeper connection between the villa community and the surrounding villagers.
