World Pizza Day

World Pizza Day, celebrated on February 9th, honors one of the world’s most beloved foods. Originating in Naples, Italy, pizza’s history dates back to ancient civilizations like the Egyptians and Romans.

A key moment came in 1889 when Raffaele Esposito created Pizza Margherita, symbolizing the Italian flag with tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil.
Italian immigrants spread pizza globally in the 20th century, leading to countless variations. World Pizza Day grew from local traditions and marketing campaigns, gaining global recognition in the early 2000s.

At Birdhill Restaurant, we celebrate this spirit by showcasing Indonesia’s rich culinary heritage, bringing Nusantara dishes to the global stage.
